Last Saturday the Rye lads and lasses ventured to Crib Point, always a hard game down there, but an enjoyable place for an after match beverage or two, Hynsey and Kicka were very comfortable.
The day started not so well, with unders not really coming to play, going down to Crib Point, better players Billy W, Tommy B, Jacko, Franga, Scotty Shea and Dexter.
The Reserves again had some interesting selection issues on Thursday night, with players unavailable, but as they have done time and time again, came out and played some great footy. Buster had the ball on a string; Tweeds with 7, Woody, Lynchy, and Chris Jobbing were all in the best. Great to see A.D, out there playing after the tough week he had, A.D every-one at the club sends their condolences to you and your family at this sad time.
The Seniors had a real danger game, the first quarter we were fantastic, playing some of the best football we have played all year. Then Crib Point increased their intensity in the second quarter and they played some great footy to get them back in the game. The second half had both teams playing at a high standard and the game was in the balance right up to the final siren. It was great to come home with a hard fought win. Holmesy was fantastic again, up back and up forward he was everywhere. Adam Kirkwood did another great job, while Matt Baker, Dunny, Cainy and the Hyphen were all in the best.
The Devils in the Netball are travelling along nicely. The A Grade winning 63 – 16 and the B grade 52 – 21, well done ladies, keep up the winning form.
This Saturday we take on Somerville, another team playing some good footy. Boys with 3rd spot still up for grabs we have plenty to play for today so bring your A game.
